EMT-B IN NYS Can ASSIST patient with their own prescription of Nitroglycerin. EMT-B cannot administer nitroglycerin, even if you call Med Control!
IF:
Patient has their own prescription, it is theirs, it's not expired, its the right medication, the dosage is correct, they have not taken more than allowed (maximum 3 doses pre-hospital including what they took before you arrived)- and you document all of this;
AND
Patient has a systolic blood pressure over 120 mm/Hg
